The mission of the Consortium for Orthodontic Advances in Science and Technology (COAST) is to accelerate the translation and utilization of novel discoveries in orthodontic health care. This includes cutting-edge conferences and networking of faculty, scholars, private practitioners, industry, residents, and students from within and outside the profession
The 11th Biennial COAST conference will incorporate an AAOF-funded Education Innovation Award (EIA) Faculty Career Enrichment (FaCE of Orthodontics) Facutly Development Workshop for junior and midlevel faculty. Past workshops have covered a variety of helpful topics such as:
· Use of Digital Technology in Orthodontic Teaching
· Teaching Critical Thinking to Orthodontic Resident
· Lunch-and-learns on various topics
· Networking with seasoned faculty mentors
The COAST team offers a $1,000 FaCE of Orthodontics Scholarship to the first 25 junior and midlevel faculty from a US or Canadian Institution, on a first-come-first-served basis for each meeting.
